This coalition was made after President Biden announced his executive order for half of all vehicles being sold should be electric powered by 2030. The rise in electric vehicles bring up the issue of the lack of public EV charging stations available on the road. This makes long distance travel a lot harder for drivers. The Biden Administration is making efforts by proposing new budgets to increase the number of public charging stations on the roads. The president recently put forth a $7.5 billion budget to go towards EV charging infrastructure.
“With the formation of the National Electric Highway Coalition, we are committed to investing in and providing the charging infrastructure necessary to facilitate electric vehicle growth and to helping alleviate any remaining customer range anxiety,” said Tom Kuhn, EEI President.
